Ellie Shafiei (Iranian- American. b 1987). MFA Candidate, New York Academy of Art, Class of 2026. Ellie Shafiei is a multimedia artist, oil painter, photographer, and printmaker whose creative journey began in her teenage years. She has pursed her skills through formal art education and personal determination. Shafiei’s academic background includes a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Art History from UC Davis.

Despite facing challenges and setbacks, Shafiei has remained committed to her art and her values. Her work is driven by a passion for women’s rights and a desire to inspire the next generation in Iran to pursue their dreams. Through her art, she seeks to empower and motivate others to stand up for their beliefs and aspirations.
